OH MY GOSH—that perfectly sums up the energy at VISTA Gardens on February 8, 2025! In the photos above, you can see our dedicated team of volunteers—Angela, Roberta, Stephen, Marty, Laurie, Rick, Rolfe, Elizabeth, Richard, and Evans—guiding 25 eager students from Sickles High School, Tampa Catholic High School, and the University of South Florida (USF). Together, they rolled up their sleeves to preserve the environment, create unique habitats, and learn hands-on sustainability skills.
In one photo, two volunteers work side by side in a wooded area, tackling invasive grasses and trees with pruning shears in hand. Another group is shown gathered around the new planting beds, shovels in hand, ready to spread mulch and clear debris. A separate snapshot captures volunteers proudly standing beneath the “VISTA’s Cut Flower Gardens” sign, reflecting their enthusiasm for nurturing beautiful blooms.

And perhaps the most magical moment of all is captured in the picture of our first monarch sighting of the season—feasting on vibrant wildflowers, a testament to the habitats we strive to protect.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or new to environmental stewardship, VISTA offers a welcoming community where every helping hand makes a difference. If these images inspire you to get involved, explore our volunteer opportunities:
